Cillian Murphy earned his instant stardom after his heartfelt performance because of his delightful personality and devastating, dramatic, empathetic acting within Danny Boyle's 28 Days Later. His subtle acting keeps 28 Days Later enthralling and entertaining at all times. Murphy makes you believe Jim wants to live on despite his fears of dying, trauma from violence, grief for his parents, and soul destroying state of his zombie plagued world. His terrifying persona and creative ingenuity in the gory finale is awesome, while Murphy's discussions with each character are natural and thoughtful. Cillian Murphy is so likable and relatable as Jim that you want him to survive and protect his new friends. Murphy's engaging humanity, steadfast leadership, uplifting sarcastic humor, inspired romance, heartfelt friendship, and peerless fearlessness make for one of cinema's greatest leading performances.
